Part 4 -- What's the Growth Formula?
Saturday, November 21, 10:00 am to 11:30 am
Caln Quarter has assembled a panel of Friends from meetings that have experienced growth. They'll tell us about their outreach methods and how they cultivate new Friends, covering topics such as:
- Raising visibility in the local area to attract newcomers
- Converting a curious visitor to an attender who is connected to the meeting community
- Preparations to revitalize the meeting for re-engagement post-Covid
For more information, contact Irene Oleksiw at [email protected].
Brad Sheeks from Newtown Monthly Meeting (PhYM), Arlene Johnson from Chatham-Summit Meeting (NYYM), and Vick Smith from Old Chatham Friends Meeting (NYYM) will be our panelists.
This session follows three others held earlier this year: Digital Presence; All Together Now: Welcoming Families & Children; Friendly Fences. Copies of these slides are available upon request.
About this Series
Like so many events in 2020, Caln Quarterly Meeting's annual gathering was canceled for May of 2020. Rather than throwing in the towel, we pivoted and recycled this year's gathering theme, Growing Our Meetings, into a well-attended Zoom session that introduced how many of our Meetings are growing and what their practices for outreach are. The session was open to members and attenders from across several yearly meetings--far beyond Caln Quarter. The feedback from many of the 120 people who registered for that session on May 2, 2020, opened the way for us to continue with a six-part series that will provide more details on many of the topics and issues raised during the May Zoom session.
